Check out this delicious recipe for beer brownies using a Porter-style brew. We suggest Boulder Shake Porter (available in Indiana and Ohio) or Maui Coconut Porter (available in Florida, Indiana and Ohio)

Ingredients:
1 c. Porter-style Beer
1 stick unsalted butter
1/2 c. + 1 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
1 c. + 2 Tbsp granulated sugar
2 oz. unsweetened chocolate, chopped (optional)
1 large egg white
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. all purpose flour
Directions:
  1. Add the beer to a small saucepan and boil until it reduces to 1/3 cup. Keep an eye on it to prevent over-boiling.
  2. Preheat over to 325 degrees Fahrenheit, and line a 9″ x 5″ loaf pan with parchment paper.
  3. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the butter, cocoa powder, sugar, and unsweetened chocolate (if using). Microwave on High for 30 seconds. Stir, and microwave for another 30 seconds. Let cool for 1 minute.
  4. Stir in 4 Tbsp of the beer concentrate, the egg white, vanilla, and salt.
  5. Finally, stir in the flour and stir for 50 strokes to incorporate and activate the gluten in the flour.
  6. Pour the mixture into loaf pan and bake for 40 to 45 minutes. Brownies are done when surface is dry and toothpick inserted only has moist crumbs sticking to it. Let cool, cut, then serve.
